I went over to watch the Salmon Bay masters swim club this morning this morning at the Queen Anne pool. When I observed them a couple weeks ago it was at the Madison pool up north late on a Friday night, so there weren't many people. This time the pool was full so I could get a better feel for what to expect and where I would fit in. I talked with Ed, the coach for quite a while about swimming basics. I will be hooking up with him for the next month or so for some individual lessons.
I did my own swim in the afternoon to try out a few of the pointers Ed gave me. I did a different warm up for starts and then during 4 50yd sprints brought my time down to :36, which - if I could do the four laps contiguously - would mean I'm doing a 2:24 200yd. Not bad.
